Prepared.ly

Make staying prepared for wildfire fun and easy.

Prepared.ly offers a simple interface for emergency preparedness with checklists and facts in order to help residents protect themselves against natural disasters.

Wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes and natural disasters are a regular and real part of life. It’s not only important to know which forces of nature you’re susceptible to, but to be prepared and ready for them. Built with help from the City of Austin and Texas Forest Service and easily redeployed for any type of disaster, Prepared.ly helps citizens prepare for the worst. The application provides near real-time information on home and business property risk, offers disaster preparedness tasks, offers the ability to track progress and set reminders, and connects directly to fire safety professionals.

  • Enter your address, and see your house on the map. You’ll also see an assessment of your risk level, current weather conditions, and burn ban information.
  • Stay prepared with the abilty to accept, share, and create tasks for you and your neighborhood via text, email or Twitter. Accept or decline tasks, as well as get some background on why they are important. Add comments about prevention tasks, submit questions to the Fire Department and help less tech-savvy neighbors with prevention efforts.
  • Set up notifications to stay on top of things, and up to date with weather conditions. Set up custom alerts so that you can decide when you want to schedule a task, and be aware of high alert days and changes in weather conditions.
  • Schedule on-site consultations for your home and neighborhood with wildfire prevention experts.
